Since the 2009 NBA Free Agent Signing began two days ago, there have only been two major signings thus far (Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva).

With the rest of the offseason in front of us, there will be multiple free agent signings from now until then, in which many can help assemble an organization into top contenders for the ship next season.

For other teams that are already contenders, a free agent signing or two can push their value to the cream of the crop. [click to continue…]

Carlos Boozer trade
There have been talks about Jazz forward Carlos Boozer opting out of the final year of his contract since December. Given the state of the economy, those talks have not been as loud, though it seems there are two viable teams that could make a serious run for him. The Jazz have both Boozer and reserve forward Paul Millsap to worry about this summer, and they have let it be known their intention to retain the younger, cheaper big man. [click to continue…]
