The Jazz have just a few days to decide if they want to match the Portland Trailblazers front-loaded contract offer given to free agent forward Paul Millsap. If Utah matched the deal, it would cost them close to $20 million dollars in 2009-10. For far less money, the Jazz may seek an alternative. The Deseret News reports Glen Davis and his agent are very interested in the Jazz, and would likely go there if offered a contract in the $5-6 million per season range. There have been some pretty interesting rumors that have floated around the net over the past week, but the one that I saw this morning takes the cake. Yahoo! Sports reports the Celtics had pitched the idea of trading Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to the Pistons for Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey, however the deal was shot down immediately. The Celtics were rumored just a few short weeks ago to be offering Rajon Rondo up to the Grizzlies for the 2nd pick in this years draft. While those close to the team in Boston are denying that Ray Allen or Rondo are being actively shopped, one could assume for the right price, they could be had.
