The injury that will sideline Tracy McGrady for the remainder of the season is just the latest chapter in the series of bad breaks T-Mac has had throughout his career. Mcgrady, who was brought to Houston in the Steve Francis deal nearly five years ago, was supposed to be the “difference”. With a dominant force in the middle in yao Ming that was only getting better, it only made sense for Houston to add(at the time) one of the top five scoring threats in the NBA to their team, at a time when the Lakers had shown how to win championships building your team with a dominant center and perimeter star. Throughout Mcgrady’s career though, he has never been able to quite live up to the lofty expectations bestowed upon him in every uniform he has played in.
If you think back for a moment to McGrady’s early days in Toronto, where he teamed up with his cousin, Vince Carter, to form one of the most promising young 1-2 punches in the game.
