The basketball world received awful news this morning when news out of Detroit came out that former Pistons coach Chuck Daly had passed away at the age of 78. Daly had his family by his side when he passed this morning at his home in Jupiter, Florida.
Daly was the architect behind the Bad Boys image that still encompasses the Pistons franchises two decades later. He will be remembered for his amazing run with Detroit, in which the Pistons made the playoffs in all nine of his seasons, and had four straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances. The Pistons won back-to-back NBA Titles in 1989 and 1990, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994.
