LayupDrill.com will be featuring guest bloggers from time to time this summer to help out with various features of the site, as we prepare some exciting new additions and ventures here. With that said, we reached out to Justin Case, writer for SportsOnDrugs.com, for our 8th edition of the NBA Mock Draft. Expect two more additions of the mock draft between now and next Thursday.

1. Clippers – Blake Griffin
The easiest pick of this entire draft.

2. Grizzlies – Hasheem Thabeet
That Rubio talk is just being used to see what trade offers they can get.

3. Thunder – James Harden
Durant, Westbrook, and Harden = The New Big 3.

4. Kings – Ricky Rubio
Hope Ricky likes losing 60 times a year.

5. Wizards – Jordan Hill
If the Wizards can’t get Amare, Hill will be the next best option.

6. Timberwolves – Jonny Flynn
Flynn’s game reminds me of Jameer Nelson’s alot.

7. Warriors – Tyreke Evans
Golden State would be foolish to not draft a guard just because Monta Ellis is going to get upset.

8. Knicks – Stephen Curry
Curry ends up slipping to 8 after all.

9. Raptors – DeMar DeRozan
The second coming of Vince Carter to Canada.

10. Bucks – Brandon Jennings
The Bucks selection of Jennings sends Ramon Sessions packing.

An awful lot has changed since some of our earlier NBA Mock Drafts. We’ve seen most of the usual suspects keep their name in the draft, and once we knew the order of the lottery, the picture began to clear up. With less than a month away before the draft, expect to see only 2 more revisions of the Mock Draft. Here is the most up-to-date, based on what teams are leaning towards.

1. Clippers – Blake Griffin – There is about a 20 percent chance L.A moves this pick.
2. Grizzlies – Ricky Rubio – Rubio is the guy here, and expect the Mike Conley era to be over in Memphis. Could he reunite with Greg Oden in Portland, or wind up down in Dallas?
3. Thunder – James Harden – OKC goes with Harden, the scorer, over Thabeet here. I think the Thunder will look to bring in a veteran post player, either by trade or free agency. The trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden will make many teams stay up late preparing in 2009-10.
4. Kings – Jordan Hill – The best player available at this pick.
5. Wizards – Hasheem Thabeet – The Wizards have Thabeet 3rd on their Big Board reportedly, behind Griffin and Rubio. If they are able to have him fall to them in their lap at 5, they will be extremely happy. [click to continue…]
