Nearly a week after the Orlando Magic had first made waves around the league with their move to bring in Brandon Bass, formerly of the Dallas Mavericks, they strike again. The team released a statement today confirming they would in fact be matching the offer the Mavericks had given to reserve center Marcin Gortat, thus keeping him in the fold for 2009-10. This move was not expected by many, though it does signify the sense or urgency the team is showing in their attempts to return to the NBA Finals next year, at any cost. [click to continue…]
