The number 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Louisville Cardinals, were my preseason pick to win the national title months ago. Though, at times, that pick wasn’t the popular one among the major media outlets, I simply did the eyeball test, and realized the combination of the coach in the country(Rick Pitino), with the best talent from top to bottom in the country(the roster), and that’s a mix that will be hard to beat in March. While Tom Izzo has done an excellent job with his overachieving Spartans this year, and it would be a great story if Michigan State could play in Ford Field as the home team for their fans, they unfortunately will see their season end today. Sweet 16 Predictions Part Two

After going 3-1 based on last night’s games, LayupDrill.com focuses on tonights four pivotal Sweet 16 games, with some very interesting story lines along the way.

1. Louisville vs. Arizona
When: 7:07PM EST
Where: CBS in HD
Vegas Likes: Louisville
Intangible: Has Arizona run out of luck?
We Like: Arizona and interim head coach Russ Pennell have overachieved thus far, as it was just two weeks ago that many argued if the Wildcats should even be in the NCAA Tournament. While the Arizona Athletic Department has not given any vote of confidence that Russ Pennell would be returning next year, I think the end is here for Arizona. Louisville is too deep, and has too much talent to be knocked out here.
Louisville 80 Arizona 71

2. Michigan State vs. Kansas [click to continue…]
