As the Knicks wind down their 2008-09 campaign, all signs point to the off season, and some very tough decisions that management will have to make. Knicks President Donnie Walsh has stated on more than one occasion that they would wait until after the season was over to evaluate who they would try to bring back. NY Newsday reports this morning the asking price of free agents Nate Robinson and David Lee will be a major factor on their future in MSG. While re-signing Nate seems to be probable, Lee’s potential asking price($10 million/season) may be too rich for the Knicks blood right now.
In other news, the Chicago Bulls made some roster moves yesterday, as they receieved word that forward Loul Deng’s season is over due to an injury in his right fibula. Deng is trying to avoid surgery, however it is not certain whether he will be able to successfully do that. In the meanwhile, Chicago has signed former Duke star DeMarcus Nelson from the NBA D-League to assist with depth on the bench.
