The Final Four almost no one had

I’m sure there will be plenty of people in many of your office pools talking about how they had all four of this years Final Four teams in their brackets this year. North Carolina, Michigan State, UConn and Villanova will all be heading to Detroit still with hopes of bringing home the national championship, after some interesting regional finals this weekend.

The game of the weekend was Pitt/Villanova by far. Oklahoma relied solely on Blake Griffin, and simply weren’t even in the same league as UNC. Michigan State caught just about everyone by surprise by knocking off Louisville, and UConn was too much for the press of Missouri. [click to continue…]

UConn violated NCAA Rules

With a game against Purdue in the Sweet 16 just a few days away, the UConn Huskies mens basketball program is making news for the wrong reasons today. Yahoo! Sports and Rivals broke the news earlier today that UConn violated NCAA rules when recruiting former Huskie player Nate Miles.

Miles, who has since left the team and school, was given housing, food, transportation to get around, and was represented by sports agent Josh Nochimson between 2006 and 2008. If you aren’t familiar with Nochimson, he was decertified by the NBA Players Association last year after former UConn star and current Piston Richard Hamilton accused him of stealing nearly $1 million dollars from him.

The violations of contact, and involvement with an agent could cost UConn greatly, according to the report. The school has not made an official comment as of yet to the story.
