The NBA announced yesterday that Bulls guard Derrick Rose was the winner of the 2008-09 Rookie of the Year award, to no surprise. At least one rookie, however, wasn’t feeling the entire process. Wolves big man Kevin Love spoke to the Pioneer Press yesterday, and voiced how he felt about the results.

“I definitely thought I would finish higher, but after the rookie-sophomore snub, I guess anything can happen.” Love was referring to not being included in the All-Star weekend showcase game for rookies, though he was the number five pick overall. “I guess I just needed to play a little better,” Love said. “Maybe a 30th double-double would have made a difference.” [click to continue…]
