The Clippers thought when they drafted forward Blake Griffin last summer. He was set to be the reason for hope and optimism. Unfortunately for fans of L.A’s other team, that potential won’t be realized this year.

The Clippers dropped a press release confirming that the rookie will be shut down for the season due to injury. Griffin suffered a non-displaced stress fracture of his left patella against the Hornets in the preseason this past October 23rd. Griffin is just another player that has been hit by the bad luck of rookies that wear the Clipper uniform. In 1998, rookie big man Michael Olowokandi played half the season (45 games) due to injury. 10 years prior, the supposed saviour to the franchise, Danny Manning, tore his knee ligament, and never truly met the potential in the NBA many expected.
The Clippers are currently 17-19 as of today’s date.
