Arenas Changes His Number – Why?

by The Boss on March 12, 2010

in Blog, Wizards

Gilbert Arenas must be following Lebron James’ lead this time. Arenas has filed a formal number change for the 2010-11 season with the league, and will go from wearing 0 to the number 6. Why 6 you ask? Well, Arenas’ birthday is the 6th day of the year(Jan.6), and he was also suspended that day. Mike Miller of the Wizards currently wears 6, and gave the ok to give up his number to Gil. As bad as the Wizards are right now, Miller might be willing to do anything if it means he could get out of town like Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, and company did.

Porter was the fall guy for the failed attempt of playing Amare alongside Shaq on the Suns front line. The proposed trade would send Cavs center Zydrunas Ilgauskas along with promising forward J.J Hickson to Phoenix for Stoudemire. Cleveland would then look to lock up both Lebron and Stoudemire to long term deals, pairing the two dynamic stars together for years to come. How would Amare and Shaq co-exist on Lebron’s team? While I have waited for all the facts to come out regarding the Gilbert Arenas gun story before I drew my conclusion, it seems like David Stern has seen and heard enough. Though the Rockets sent star guard Tracy McGrady home this past weekend, there is more to the story than what both sides are saying. While T-Mac’s representatives will not say he wanted more playing time, McGrady was not happy with being benched. The Rockets have been very political in their [...]
