Warriors

There are a number of trades being rumored around the net right now. Here is the latest as of this morning…

1. Marcus Camby is headed to Portland.
Camby will be sent to the Blazers in a deal that will net the Clippers swingman Travis Outlaw and guard Steve Blake. Not a bad deal for either team, as Camby provides veteran leadership on a playoff contender, while Outlaw and Blake give the Clippers depth at key positions. [click to continue…]

The Rumor Mill is starting to heat back up as training camp is in full swing across the league. We start things off in the swamps of the Meadowlands, where point guard Rafer Alston will call home, for now. Alston, who joined the team in the Vince Carter deal this summer, realizes his playing time could be limited with Devin Harris running the show. There had been some rumors floating on the net that New Jersey was shopping the veteran guard to other Eastern Conference teams, such as the Heat and Knicks. Stay tuned…

In other news, the Golden State Warriors aren’t rushing to move disgruntled swingman Stephen Jackson. Jackson, who publicly stated his request for a trade this summer, has drawn interest from many title contenders, including the Cavaliers and Mavericks. Yahoo! Sports reports that Golden State won’t be trading Jackson, unless they receive “fair value” in return. What would justify as fair value for an overpaid, aging role player? Guess we will see. Jackson has been suspended for the first two games of the season for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Sacramento Kings will be without guard Francisco Garcia until early 2010, after undergoing surgery to repair damage to his wrist and forearm. Garcia injured himself late Friday in the weight room.
