Spurs

The last time there was a Game 7 in the NBA Finals was 5 years ago, and that series has a few interesting parallels to the Lakers/Celtics series. The Spurs and Pistons had played six riveting games, and were as even as two teams could be heading into the deciding game. Detroit, much like the Lakers this year, were the defending champs, and had home court for the final game. The Spurs, much like Boston, had cagey vets who came up big at key moments. Robert Horry was the Spurs savior that night, scoring 21 points in the 4th quarter and overtime, including a big 3 in the final moments to seal the win.

Is Tony Parker Trade Bait?

Fresh off the Spurs surprising exit via sweep at the hands of the Suns, talk in San Antonio has turned to what they will do with their point guard, Tony Parker. Parker has an expiring contract at the end of next year, which makes him an attractive trade option to many teams. While the Spurs have not said they are going into a rebuilding phase, retooling to win in the improving West will be much tougher than expected.

Conflicting reports coming out today have fans both confused and anxious. ESPN first reported this morning that Parker would be trade bait, while the San Antonio Express News later denied that claim.
