Former Magic forward Matt Barnes could be very close to finding a new home, if reports out of Toronto are true. Various sources have stated the Raptors will look to bring in Barnes at the Mid Level Veterans exception. Pairing Barnes with another former Magic forward(Hedo Turkoglu) could give Toronto some much needed balance and firepower on the wings. As the Raptors begin to move on to life after Chris Bosh, management is looking to keep their fanbase engaged at the thought of success for the team.
In other news, don’t be surprised if former Lakers guard Shannon Brown gets an offer from the New Jersey Nets. New Jersey is high on the athletic Brown, and are thinking of playing him alongside Devin Harris in the backcourt. The Nets are also looking at securing an athletic big man, and with the hopes of securing either Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire dashed, they will now turn their focus on David Lee.
Speaking of Amare Stoudemire, The Amare to New York deal could be the first big name free agent move of the summer. ESPN reports Stoudemire is expected to iron out all the details of the deal, which is supposedly a 5 year contract worth $100 million dollars.
