There are a number of trades being rumored around the net right now. Here is the latest as of this morning…

1. Marcus Camby is headed to Portland.
Camby will be sent to the Blazers in a deal that will net the Clippers swingman Travis Outlaw and guard Steve Blake. Not a bad deal for either team, as Camby provides veteran leadership on a playoff contender, while Outlaw and Blake give the Clippers depth at key positions. [click to continue…]

Glen Davis Celtics

The Boston Celtics are in the process of completing two moves that will cement them among the favorites to come out of the East next season. The first is by retaining the services of Glen Davis, who, according to the Boston Herald, will sign a 2 year deal, worth $6.3 million dollars. As we first reported last week, Davis had grown increasingly antsy regarding the negotiations of his contract, and his interest around the league was limited. Boston was his first choice, and the Celtics wanted to keep Davis in the fold.

The second move the Celtics hope to have done in the upcoming days revolves around Marquis Daniels. The former Pacers guard could join the Celtics via a sign-and-trade, however both teams are still working out the details of the deal, and players that would be involved heading back to Indiana.

In other news, the Timberwolves have their coach, finally. ESPN reports Minnesota has come to terms with Lakers assistant Kurt Rambis to be the next coach of the team. Rambis, who many thought would stay on in L.A to take over when Phil Jackson retired, will sign a four year deal worth $8 million dollars.

The Orlando Magic plan to shift their lineup a bit to start the season, while Rashard Lewis is serving his suspension. Recently acquired Brandon Bass will be shifted into the starting power forward spot, while either Matt Barnes or Mickael Pietrus will start at small forward. Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, and Dwight Howard will hold down the other three starting positions.

High School standout Jeremy Tyler is in talks to signing a deal with an Isreli league team, according to those close to his camp. Tyler, who made waves earlier this year becoming the first player to drop out of high school to go play pro ball outside of the states, plans on playing overseas for two years, before becoming eligible for the 2011 NBA Draft.

The Houston Rockets worst case scenario has now happened. ESPN reported earlier today that All-Star center Yao Ming has elected to have surgery on his foot, which will sideline him for the likely 2009-10 season. July 11, 2009
