Magic

It was just 10 years ago that two of the biggest names left in free agency were among the top 10 players in the league. Allen Iverson was leading Philly to playoff appearances while captivating audiences with his speed. T-Mac was chasing scoring titles and drawing comparisons to a young Elgin Baylor. Plenty has changed since then, but it never hurts to look back.

Chicago Bulls fans should be very excited about the potential moves their team is making. With the LeBron talk reaching heightened levels, Chicago is reportedly poised to move some key pieces in order to bring in two max contracts(LeBron and Wade/Bosh). The first move would send guard Kirk Hinrich along with the 17th pick in the draft to the Wizards. ESPN reported it’s not clear what the Wizards would send back in return, however one speculates expiring contracts and/or future picks would be in order.

According to the Chicago Daily Herald, The Bulls and Magic have explored the possiblity of sending Loul Deng to Orlando for Mickael Pietrus and Marcin Gortat. Deng would offer Orlando another viable offensive threat on the wing, though some feel if the Magic do make this move, Vince Carter could be on his way out.

Vince Carter’s former team is making some news as well. As we reported yesterday, the entire Nets roster is on the trading block, with exception to Brook Lopez. The Nets and Pacers have discussed the potential of trading Devin Harris to Indiana along with New Jersey’s 3rd pick overall, and the Nets would get All-Star Danny Granger in return. Personally, this deal could help both teams, as the Pacers get a solid young proven guard, and the chance to draft Derrick Favors 3rd overall. New Jersey, meanwhile, gets a proven frontline star, who may entice other free agents to come and play with him (i.e Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer, LeBron James).
