The Philadelphia 76ers have not had the success they envisioned heading into the season, and head coach Eddie Jordan may be the fall guy, just one season into his tenure. The Philly NBC affiliate is reporting that Jordan will be relieved of his duties after the season is over, and the team will look to bring in Doug Collins, Avery Johnson, or Jeff Van Gundy as his replacement. Many of those coaches will also be on the short list of all teams looking to change leaders this summer, and with the Sixers not currently in title contention, there may be a long wait for fans to see if they can land a big name coach.

In other news, the Gaston Gazette is reporting today that Bobcats owner Michael Jordan may be looking to bring in former UNC teammates James Worthy and even Sam Perkins to the Bobcats organization is some capacity. While not being clear on what role Worthy or Perkins could play, there is talk that Jordan will look to those he is familiar and has a prior relationship with first to build the Bobcats management team.

In free agent news, the talks around who will be able to land Hawks guard Joe Johnson continue to heat up among lottery bound teams. Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni is believed to have Joe Johnson high on his wish list, though the Bulls and Clippers also will be making a full court press to pry Johnson from Atlanta. Both Chicago and Los Angeles can offer Joe something the Knicks can’t, a promising core of players around him already in place. The potential of playing alongside Derrick Rose in Chicago, or Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, and Blake Griffin in L.A is enticing. There is still an outside chance Johnson stays in Atlanta, where he would remain with an exciting core group of players, however most feel Johnson is this years Ben Gordon among free agents, and will look to cash in on his rising stock.

When the Minnesota Timberwolves decided to draft for Ricky Rubio this summer, they knew there was a gamble involved. Many teams had their doubts that Rubio would be in an NBA uniform this season, and now we know he won’t. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Rubio has agreed on a six year deal with Regal of Barcelona, which gives Rubio the option to head to the league after the 2011 season. Some reports stated the Knicks had made one last push to land Rubio via a trade, however sources close to the organization are denying that.

In other news, the Celtics have signed former Pacers guard Marquis Daniels, according to the Boston Globe. Daniels agreed to a one year, $1.9 million dollar deal to join Boston.

With Raymond Felton still not close to signing a deal with Charlotte, the talks of a sign and trade have begun to come up. The Bucks and Sixers are potential landing spots for Felton, however he would have to agree to a contract less than what Charlotte could offer.
