5 Teams That Want Chris Bosh

by The Boss on May 22, 2010

While much of the media is focusing on the LeBron James Free Agency Sweepstakes, Chris Bosh may have just as much an impact on the face of the league in the 2010-11 season and beyond. It’s a foregone conclusion Bosh will not be back in Toronto, and reports have now surfaced of a “wish list” Bosh has given Raptors officials about where he would like to be dealt. Check out those teams, as well as the likelihood of a trade, after the jump.

Bulls – Chicago could become the top choice by Bosh, should they land LeBron James via free agency. James, Derrick Rose, and Bosh as a core to build around would put the Bulls among the best in the league heading into next season. A sign-and-trade for Bosh would have to be carefully crafted to not only work within the salary cap, but also completely strip the team of talent.

Heat – Teaming up with Dwyane Wade has been a viable option for a number of big men, such as Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire, and Bosh. Should the first two stay put where they are, Bosh heading to South Beach could be possible.

Mavericks – Bosh is a native of Texas, and initial thoughts were he wanted to play close to home. That would put the Rockets and Mavericks both in the mix. Mark Cuban will not sit idle and watch other owners upstage him this summer for sure, so don’t be surprised if he makes a huge push for both LeBron and Bosh.

Knicks – A long shot, but still possible. Should the Knicks strike out on landing LeBron, bringing in Bosh alongside Joe Johnson would get excitement in the Garden again.

Lakers – This one would be interesting. Some feel the Lakers would love to ship Andrew Bynum out, and whether they win the NBA title or not this year, bringing in Chris Bosh could keep the window of opportunity to rack up more titles for Kobe, Pau and company another 3-5 years.
