Now that the Conference Semifinals are all set, the difference between good and great will be even more apparent. There are some “good” teams left playing, such as the Hawks, Jazz, Spurs, and Suns. There are only three great teams left, and all three will advance into the NBA’s Final Four. Check our predictions after the jump.
Celtics vs. Cavs
The 2 Time MVP Lebron James doesn’t like Boston, and the Celtics don’t like him. A few years ago, it was the 4 seed Cavs that battled and scrapped for seven games against the favored Celtics, before losing a tough deciding game on the road. This one won’t go that far. The Cavs are the better team, the deeper team, and the more desperate team.

Magic vs. Hawks
Orlando is not getting the credit they deserve regarding how good they truly are. Atlanta was pushed to the limit against an undermanned Bucks team, and though on paper they matchup well with Orlando, this series will also not go the distance. Expect Dwight Howard and Josh Smith to battle to a draw in the paint, however the perimeter play of Rashard Lewis being the difference maker.

Spurs vs. Suns
The most even series of the four in this round could truly go either way. I give the slight nod to the Suns, as San Antonio simply doesn’t have enough offensive firepower to keep up with Phoenix. Besides, there is a revenge factor for the Suns in this series, as the ghosts of Robert Horry’s foul on Steve Nash from playoffs past still haunts the Suns franchise.

Lakers vs. Jazz
Kobe Bryant and the Lakers were pushed much more than they expected in the first round, and the Jazz are primed to pull an upset. There is not enough help inside to offset the presence of Pau Gasol and a somewhat healthy Andrew Bynum. Though Deron Williams will go for 30 a game, the Lake Show rolls on to the West Finals again.
