Duke will dismantle Butler Monday Night

by The Boss on April 4, 2010

The three things I learned watching the national semifinals last night were:

1. As nice of a story Butler is, they don’t have enough firepower offensively to slow Duke.
2. The DeSean Butler/Bob Huggins interaction during last night’s game was the moment of the tournament.
3. Duke is going to be your 2010 national champ.

Butler enters Monday’s title game expecting that they will be able to duplicate the success thus far that has got them this far against the Blue Devils. Duke, meanwhile, made it look easy against West Virginia. The same West Virginia team that made it look easy against then-favorite Kentucky. Duke’s outside shooting and size inside matches up very well for them against Butler, and if they are clicking early, this game could be over before halftime.

As nice as a story it would be to have Butler cut down the nets Monday night, it won’t happen. Duke may not win by 21 points, as they did Saturday, but they will win, guaranteed.

Duke 68
Butler 59
