News broke earlier today that fans in D.C were hoping they would not get. Star gaurd Gilbert Arenas and young forward Javaris Crittendon have been suspended for the remainder of the 2009-10 season, due to the pending gun charges that both are looking at. NBA commish David Stern rolled out the third and fourth longest suspensions in league history, but they could have been longer.

Yahoo! Sports reports originally the league was looking to suspend Arenas for an entire 82 game season, which would have him missing nearly half of the 2010-11 campaign as well. League officials and those in Arenas’ camp were able to agree on the remainder of this year, which equates to 50 games for Agent Zero. Javaris Crittenton for 38 games to end his season. The Wizards may now look to see if legally they can void the remaining $80 million dollars left on Gilbert Arenas contract, and some experts feel they may have a strong case to do so based on the events that have transpired. Washington is currently 14-30 on the 2009-10 campaign, and have lost four in a row.
