In one of the stranger stories to develop this offseason, Clippers guard Baron Davis has been stolen, and he is pissed. According to The Smoking Gunn, Davis had “Private Images” on his laptop, and through his legal counsel, will pursue legal action should any of those photos get published online. The theft has been reported to the authorities, and they are working on the matter.
In other news, it looks like Davis will be having a new teammate in the backcourt in L.A this fall. The Clippers are close to signing former Bucks guard Ramon Sessions to a multi year deal. Sessions, who at one point this summer looked like he was headed to the Knicks, will now join a overcrowded backcourt with Eric Gordon and Baron Davis the presumed starters.
In what may be a sign of things to come, The Salt Lake Tribune reports the Utah Jazz are selling jerseys of forward Carlos Boozer 50% off. The jerseys of other popular players, such as Deron Williams and Paul Millsap, remain full price. While Utah has denied any deal is close to being done for Boozer, it is no secret he is being shopped. There may be a greater chance Boozer is dealt during the season, perhaps around the All-Star break.
The New Orleans Hornets continue to cut payroll. The team has traded Rasoul Butler to the Clippers for a future second round draft pick. The deal will save the Hornets nearly $8 million dollars in payroll.
