Leon Powe was a vital piece of the Boston Celtics championship run in 2008, and fans in Cleveland hope he will be able to bring that good luck to their team. Powe agreed to terms to join the Cavs, in what is expected to be a 2 year deal. Fans in Cleveland should not expect to see Powe on the floor until the All Star break though, as he is recouping from his torn ACL he suffered during the 2009 first round playoffs.

In other news, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade sparked some rumors in Chicago recently, with the purchase of a 1.4 million dollar townhome in the city. Wade, who could become a free agent at the end of next summer, could be free to sign with the Bulls, or any other team, should he decide to leave Miami and not sign a contract extension.

The Knicks are receiving good news regarding the rehab of center Eddy Curry. Curry has dropped nearly 10 pounds over the last month, since playing in the Las Vegas summer league, and is now expected to be near his ideal playing weight of 318 lbs. Many remember Curry had ballooned up to near 355 lbs during the past 2 seasons.

The Denver Post reports with the departure of Linas Kleiza, the Nuggets could turn to free agent Wally Szczerbiak to fill his shoes. The former Cavalier has not received much interest around the league at all this summer, and the Nuggets could offer cheap.

The Celtics dissed Leon way before he decided to sign with the Cavs.

this will not help Cleveland at all. Dude will never be the same player again. And I’m happy for Eddy. After all he’s been through, if he can show up to camp at least around the 290-300 range, that shows he’s very committed to coming back hardcore next season. Dont give up, EC!
