After being turned down by Knicks guard Nate Robinson, the Greece powerhouse Olympicaos seem to have a bigger name in their sight. Reports from overseas state free agent Allen Iverson has been offered a 2 year contract with the team, worth $10 million dollars. This would be the equivalent of an NBA team offering A.I the veterans mid level exception. However, as of yet, no team has done that. As the days begin to turn into weeks, and teams begin to sign other guards, the potential of Iverson landing an offer of that dollar amount in the league seems rare. The question that has yet to be answered is does Iverson want to play in the NBA bad enough he would take a 1 year deal from a possible playoff contender, like the Heat or even the Clippers, to be the third scoring option? Stay tuned…
In other news, the Knicks maybe looking to bring in Jason Williams to take the place of free agent Nate Robinson. The NY Post reports the Knicks have exclusive rights to negotiate with the formerly retired guard until Thursday, which is when he will be free to negotiate with anyone else.
The other current Knicks free agent, David Lee, now seems to be open to a 1 year deal, whether with the Knicks or not. The free agent forward had originally hoped to land a multi-year deal worth $12 million a season, however no offers from any teams have surfaced yet.
