Grant Hill will certainly not be out of work next season, as he has become one of the more coveted veteran players still on the market. The Celtics are believed to be the favorites to land Hill, however NY Newsday reports don’t rule out Hill joining Mike D’Antoni and the Knicks. While the Celtics can offer Hill a chance to play for a title next year, financially New York can offer him nearly double the annual salary.
In other news, CBSSports reports that Dallas is in talks with the Toronto Raptors about a potential sign-and-trade that would send Shawn Marion to them. There isn’t word on who Dallas would be sending back in return.
The Lakers have agreed to contract with Shannon Brown on a 2 year deal worth $4.2 million dollars to bring back the former Bobcat. With Brown back in the fold, all eyes will be on the contract negotiations of Lamar Odom.
The Rockets are in search of adding a veteran big man to their roster, with the uncertainty surrounding Yao Ming for the 2009-10 season, however the pickings are slim. Some of the free agents still out there are not enticing to the Rockets management, and trading for a center or power forward on a team would have to be a deal they couldn’t resist. Most feel that Houston will wait until Tracy McGrady returns to the court and begins to play before they make any drastic changes.
