The Indiana Pacers had a run in the late 90′s where they were the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NBA. Unfortunately for Reggie Miller, they don’t give out rings for being 2nd or 3rd. Check out this classic footage from Game 5 of the 1999 Eastern Conference Finals, with the closing moments of a great game in Market Square Arena.
Note: Check out the Chris Dudley sighting…

ahhh man. One of the greatest yet bittersweet memories of my teen years. I was 19 years old, and absolutely CRAZY about this Knicks team. That whole Finals run was the stuff hoop dreams are made of. From Allan’s running floater that knocked out that bitch ass Heat team, to LJ’s series changing 4-point play in Game 3 of this series, there was a magic to this particular squad that no other team I’ve seen could match thus far. It was more like a small family than a basketball team. And the fans were just as much a part of this family as they were. Watch how LJ celebrates with the crowd after they won Game 3, look at Spree running around the sidelines high fiving everyone in the front row after we made it to the Finals in Game 6. It was just an unbelieveable run. I say it was bittersweet because a. ) we lost to the Spurs (nobody was going to beat them that year….even if Patrick was healthy), and b.) I lost the only girl who ever gave a shit about me that summer.
sorry for the rant. This was the most unforgettable summer of my life, in more ways than one.
