The Jazz have just a few days to decide if they want to match the Portland Trailblazers front-loaded contract offer given to free agent forward Paul Millsap. If Utah matched the deal, it would cost them close to $20 million dollars in 2009-10. For far less money, the Jazz may seek an alternative. The Deseret News reports Glen Davis and his agent are very interested in the Jazz, and would likely go there if offered a contract in the $5-6 million per season range. Utah has not shown their hand as of yet, on whether they intend on matching the Millsap deal.

The Jazz have continued to field offers regarding the services of Carlos Boozer however. The Boston Globe reports the Pistons turned down an offer by the Jazz last week that would have sent Boozer to Detroit for Teyshaun Prince. Though Detroit has wanted Boozer for quite some time, they weren’t ready to give up on Prince just yet.

The Miami Heat are also interested in the services of Carlos Boozer, though they would likely need to get a third team involved to make a deal work with the Jazz. Michael Beasley would likely be part of any offer for the All-Star forward.

The Allen Iverson free agent watch seems to be a two team race as of now. The Memphis Grizzlies are still expected to be the front runners for the services of The Answer. Iverson could potentially be paired up alongside O.J Mayo for quite an explosive backcourt. The Miami Heat are the darkhorse in the race, though Dwyane Wade may lean on his personal relationship with A.I to lure him to South Beach. The Heat are also looking at a few other veterans to bring in on a discount, including the recently waived Jerry Stackhouse, Stephon Marbury, and possibly Rashard McCants.

In Andre Miller news, it seems that the Knicks have offered Miller a 1 year, $5.8 million dollar mid level exception, and presented the Sixers with a sign-and-trade that would send Chris Duhon to Philly. Miller’s camp had been holding out to see if any teams would offer him the 3 years, $30 million dollar deal he expected this summer.
