LayupDrill.com will be featuring guest bloggers from time to time this summer to help out with various features of the site, as we prepare some exciting new additions and ventures here. With that said, we reached out to Justin Case, writer for SportsOnDrugs.com, for our 8th edition of the NBA Mock Draft. Expect two more additions of the mock draft between now and next Thursday.
1. Clippers – Blake Griffin
The easiest pick of this entire draft.
2. Grizzlies – Hasheem Thabeet
That Rubio talk is just being used to see what trade offers they can get.
3. Thunder – James Harden
Durant, Westbrook, and Harden = The New Big 3.
4. Kings – Ricky Rubio
Hope Ricky likes losing 60 times a year.
5. Wizards – Jordan Hill
If the Wizards can’t get Amare, Hill will be the next best option.
6. Timberwolves – Jonny Flynn
Flynn’s game reminds me of Jameer Nelson’s alot.
7. Warriors – Tyreke Evans
Golden State would be foolish to not draft a guard just because Monta Ellis is going to get upset.
8. Knicks – Stephen Curry
Curry ends up slipping to 8 after all.
9. Raptors – DeMar DeRozan
The second coming of Vince Carter to Canada.
10. Bucks – Brandon Jennings
The Bucks selection of Jennings sends Ramon Sessions packing.
11. Nets – Jrue Holiday
Holiday gives the Nets two top flight guards.
12. Bobcats – Gerald Henderson
The Bobcats get better on both ends of the court.
13. Pacers – Austin Daye
Indiana is in love with this guy for some reason.
14. Suns – Earl Clark
Phoenix gets the best player available.
15. Pistons – DeJuan Blair
Another undersized power forward.
16. Bulls – B.J Mullens
Another young big man for the Bulls to throw at the rest of the East.
17. Sixers – Eric Maynor
This has looked like a good match for a while.
18. Timberwolves – James Johnson
If the Wolves keep all their young players, they will be in the playoffs in a couple years.
19. Hawks – Jeff Teague
The Hawks upgrade the point guard position.
20. Jazz – Wayne Ellington
Jazz need a big man and a scorer, this time they opt for the scorer.
21. Hornets – Tyler Hansborough
Hansborough could help Tyson Chandler a lot in the paint.
22. Mavericks – Ty Lawson
Jason Kidd’s replacement has been chosen.
23. Kings – DaJuan Summers
Summers would be a steal here.
24. Blazers – Terrence Williams
Williams slips a bit, but gives Portland another scorer.
25. Thunder – Chase Budinger
Budinger is a pure scorer who can come off the bench and provide offense.
26. Bulls – Darren Collison
If Hinrich is out, Collison can step right in his spot.
27. Grizzlies – Omri Casspi
An insurance policy for Memphis if Rudy Gay bolts town
28. Timberwolves – Taj Gibson
Al Jefferson’s backup for the next five years
29. Lakers – Sam Young
A steal for the Lakers at this spot. Ariza’s replacement?
30. Cavs – Marcus Thornton
You can’t teach height and talent. Thronton has both.
