NBA Finals Game 3 Preview
In the brief, storied history of the Orlando Magic, they have made two appearances in the NBA Finals, yet have not won a single game in the championship round, until tonight. Orlando should have won Game 2. We all know close only counts in horsehoes and hand grenades, and the fact is they didn’t. However, in front of their home crowd, knowing a sweep is very possible if they lose tonight, expect a decisive Magic win.
Why they will win:
1. Lakers will fall behind early. Phil Jackson has already read this conversation with his team, yet it is bound to happen. With the electric Magic crowd pushing them on, expect the streaky shooting of J.J Reddick and company to be on early.
2. Kobe will try to take over, and will have a great game in defeat. The Lakers have a bad habit to press when facing pressure themselves, and Bryant, who may have one of those 9-25 nights, ends up with 25-30 points when it’s all said and done, but the great play of Lamar Odom will remain in Staples Center.
3. Dwight Howard. Simply put, Howard needs to put together a vintage performance, where he goes for 30 points and 20-25 rebounds. It is something he is capable of doing, and at least for night, he will be the best player on the floor.
I don’t expect this game to be close late. The Lakers will rebound, and I still expect the series to go to Bryant and company. The Magic though are too good, and too proud, to not put forth their best showing of the Finals tonight.
