When the Clippers won the NBA Draft Lottery last night, the hopes of drafting Blake Griffin for fans in cities like Sacramento, Memphis, Washington, and Oklahoma City were dashed. The Los Angeles Times reports this morning that Clippers coach and GM Mike Dunleavy confirmed that Blake Griffin would be their pick. “This guy is the No. 1 pick. We’re extremely excited. He’s the guy.”
Early Mock Drafts following the Lottery have some big changes to the top ten. Mark Heisler of the L.A Times has Ricky Rubio falling to fourth with the Kings, while Hasheem Thabeet would be going second to Memphis. Don’t forget, LayupDrill.com’s Mock Draft will be updated Thursday with the lottery order.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that the Grizzlies will be heading to Spain to get a good look at Ricky Rubio. The Grizzlies initial need would be bringing in a big man, however their may be teams interested in moving up to get Rubio that could offer Memphis a veteran forward and/or center. Stay tuned…
