Clippers finally get lucky, land number 1 pick

Clippers land top pick

I didn’t expect this one. The NBA Draft Lottery was unveiled before the start of the Lakers/Nuggets game tonight, and the big winner of the draft were the Clippers, who came into the night with the 3rd best chance to get the top pick. The big loser? Ricky Rubio and Blake Griffin.

The Clippers don’t really need a point guard(Remember Baron Davis?), so the odds of him going to the Clippers are slim. Blake wouldn’t fit there either though, as the franchise doesn’t have a position for him(Marcus Camby, Zach Randolph, Chris Kamaan). What happens now? Would the Clippers entertain a trade offer by a team like the Thunder or Wizards?

Check out the LayupDrill.com updated NBA Mock Draft this Friday.
