The World Famous LayupDrill Rumor Mill

I wish this was a April Fool’s joke, but it’s not. Moments after the Pistons dropped another game, this time to the Cavs 79-73, Iverson voiced his frustration with his limited playing time to reporters. The Detroit News reports that Iverson, who played 18 minutes, and scored only 11 points, questioned why Detroit rushed him to come back. “It seemed way, way, way less than that. Eighteen minutes? Come on, man. I can play 18 minutes with my eyes closed. It’s a bad feeling, man. I’m wondering what they rushed me to get back for? For that?”
It’s no secret that Iverson did not approve of his demotion to sixth man, and his bond with the Pistons will be ending as soon as Detroit’s season is over. While things have not worked out this year the way Pistons GM Joe Dumars would have liked when he traded away franchise point guard Chauncey Billups in November, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Detroit will be in line to make a run at free agents this season and next, so the team should be fine next year. As for A.I., it remains to be seen if a team will take a financial gamble on him to let him be the franchise player he is used to being. Stay tuned….
In other news, though the Chicago Bulls may be floundering any chances at making the playoffs, the management team has their eyes on a different prize. The Daily Herald reports that Chicago has their eyes on Raptors big man Chris Bosh, who may be trade bait during the off season. Toronto is lottery bound again, and may be looking to get better in a hurry, if they can land some solid talent for Bosh, along with a lottery pick or two. Chicago could offer Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas, or anyone else Toronto may want, with the exception of Derrick Rose or Joakim Noah.
