The North Carolina Tarheels were the preseason pick of many media outlets to win the national title, and for the most part, they have looked like a Final Four contender the entire season. Throughout this tournament, Roy Williams has seen his younger role players begin to step up, and Ty Lawson has looked unstoppable against any who tried to stop him. Standing in their way from a ticket to Detroit is the player of the year, Blake Griffin, and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Blake Griffin is shooting 78 percent from the floor, something that hasn’t been done in the NCAA Tournament since Christian Lattener was nearly perfect for an entire month years ago. Griffin and Tyler Hansborough doing battle in the paint should be a classic, but the game won’t be decided there. The most important player on the floor for UNC is Lawson, and between his incredible long distance shooting, along with his ability to not turn the ball over under pressure, he keeps his teammates involved, and in sync. Oklahoma has some good guards as well, between Austin Johnson and Willie Warren, and they will need career shooting games from them to have a shot to pull off this upset. In the end, though, too much Tar Heels, and Jeff Capel, a former Duke player himself, will see the end of Blake Griffin’s college career end to the hated Heels.

UNC 82
Oklahoma 69
