The Chicago Bulls are currently in a tie for the 8th seed in the East, and even if making the playoffs means a matchup with Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, they are ready for it. Many of the Bulls veterans who had experienced the postseason before spoke with the Chicago Tribune, and voiced their reason for opting a 8 seed over the lottery.
“Get in no matter what”, were words spoken by Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich, who, along with Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, and company, have been to the playoffs together over the last four seasons. Rookie point guard Derrick Rose, who is averaging 16 points and 6 assists in his first full season in the league, seems to be adjusting to the intensity of a playoff race well. With games against both the Lakers and Celtics this week, Rose and the rest of the Bulls will be reminded at what playoff basketball is all about, as their opponents jockey position for home court advantage in the later rounds of the playoffs.
In other news, Celtics head coach Doc Rivers spoke with the media Sunday, and stated we could be seeing the return of Kevin Garnett to the court by Friday, when they take on the Spurs. Boston, who has fallen behind the Cavs in the race for homecourt in the East, may now opt to get every one healthy and ready for the defense of their title over pushing for the best overall record in the conference.
