Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
Monday Morning Point Guard
January 19, 2008

As the country takes a moment today to sit back and reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I hope everyone takes time today to remember what Dr. King meant for each and every one of our lives. I had the opportunity to watch the “I Have a Dream” speech again this morning, and nearly 45 years later, the words spoken still are as impactful as ever.

NBA Players took a moment out last season to speak about what Dr. King meant to them. Check it out:

Question of the Week
This week’s question was actually asked by two people last week, and I felt I needed to address it. The question is in regards to writing or contributing to LayupDrill.com. While we always are looking for the absolute best talent available to join our team, there are some things that I should state.

1. Only submit original work.
- This should be a given, but every once in a while it seems there are writers who try to make a name from themselves by blantently plagerizing another writers work.

2. Know what you want to cover.

- If you want to be a college basketball contributor, let us know. If you want to be the Detroit Pistons beat writer, let us know that. We are currently looking to bring on people who can contribute in the following areas:
- College Basketball Writer
- Editor
- Western Conference Writer
If you are interested in filling one of those spots, simply use our contact us page, and a member of the team will be in touch with you.

This Week’s Must See Team: Dallas Mavericks
The Mavs, who enter this week at 23-17, find themselves in fourth place in the very competitive Southwest Divison. Dallas goes on the road vs four very tough Eastern Conference foes, starting with the streaking 76ers today, then going to Milwuakee, Detroit, and Boston. Dallas is currently 10-10 on the road, and with the race for the 8th spot in the West in the grasp, these critical games leading up to the Trade Deadline could be telling on if Mark Cuban pulls the trigger on redesigning his franchise’s core.
