Lakers and Celtics both lose

Hours after I unveiled the latest Sweet 16 Power Rankings, number 1 and 2 both lose. The Lakers finally lost a game at home, as CP3 and David West combined for 72 Points to defeat LA 115 – 106. Kobe Bryant did what he could for LA, scoring 39 points, hit a buzzer beater to end the quarter, and did one of the craziest two hand blocks I have seen in a while. Check the video below:

Meanwhile, The Charlotte Bobcats scored their biggest win of the season, with a shocking 114 – 106 overtime win against the champs. Boston, who has lost five out of their last seven games, showed why they needed Stephon Marbury last night, as the point guard tandem of Raymond Felton and DJ Augustin gave Rajon Rondo fits all night on both ends of the court. Felton and Augustin combined for 45 points, including key shots throughout the fourth quarter and overtime. The Celtics bench, who managed only 19 points last night, has been the difference, in a bad way, during their slump. While both LA and Boston share the same 29-7 record, the feel in both cities this morning is very different.

Hmm, looks like that Bulls 72-10 record will stay intact.
