According to the Sacramento Bee, under-rated guard/forward John Salmons might be shipped to the Portland Trail Blazers for a draft pick and Raef LaFrentz’s expiring contract in return.
Salmons contract does not expire until after the 2010-11 season and could be a great fit in the Blazers system aside Brandon Roy.
Fantasy Standpoint:
John Salmons has become a monster fantasy player this season averaging a career-high 18.69 PPG along with 3.98 RPG, 3.44 APG, 1.04 SPG, and already has more 3PTM (62) this season than he has made in an entire season. If Salmons does get traded to the Blazers, fantasy owners have to hope he is placed into the starting line-up and averages consistent minutes to keep his fantasy production at this high level. Regardless, Salmons fantasy value is bound to take a hit if traded to Portland because of all the talent surrounding the team.
