The World Famous LayupDrill Rumor Mill
1/13/09
Some people don’t have any luck. Eddy Curry, who finally made it back on the court after being sidelined with injuries, has been accused of not paying his cleaning bill, and now the NY Times and NY Post are both reporting that Curry is being sued by his former driver for sexual harassment and failure to pay thousands of dollars in back pay. The driver, Dave Kuchinsky, claims through his lawyer that Curry not only owed him over $90,000 in back wages and personal debts, but also made lewd and racially offensive remarks to the driver when he dropped his pants in front of Kuchinsky on two different occasions.
According to Deadspin, Some of the claims made by Kuchinsky include:
- Kuchinsky claims Curry made him perform “humiliating tasks outside the scope of his employment” such as cleaning up and removing ejaculate-filled towels so that Curry’s wife would not see them.
- When Kuchinsky balked at some of these tasks, he claims he was verbally assaulted by Curry, including being called, “fuckiing Jew,” “cracker,” “white slave,” “white devil” and “grandmaster of the KKK.”
- Curry also pointed a “fully loaded” gun at the chauffeur on two separate occasions to stop him from whining about his treatment, allegedly telling Kuchisnky, “Look, I have one in the chamber.”
Curry, through his lawyer, Kelly Saindon, called these claims “extortion”. According to both parties, Kuchinsky stopped working for Curry last October.
While the NY Post and NY Times are reporting about the Eddy Curry sex suit, the Daily News has a trade rumor update on Curry. Reportedly Curry has told friends close to him he would welcome a trade to Miami, or back to Chicago, where he started his career. Both the Heat and Bulls have desirable trade pieces New York may covet, along with expiring contracts.
In other news, NBA.com is reporting that a Steve Nash to Toronto deal could happen pretty soon. The Suns are looking at moving forward past the “old guard” of Nash, Shaq, and Grant Hill, and the Raptors are looking to bring in some help to show Chris Bosh it will be worth his while to re-sign in Toronto. The proposed trade offered would include Nash, Leandro Barbosa, and Robin Lopez to Toronto for Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, Jason Kopono, and possibly Jamario Moon. Stay Tuned…
