If you are a fan of college basketball, then you know that conference play in January often determines who will be playing in the Big Dance in March. With most of the country under frigid temperatures in the height of winter, there is nothing better to do today than check out some of the best players and teams in the nation do battle from the comfort of your living room.

Here are some of todays best games:

8. Syarcuse vs. 12. Notre Dame – 12PM EST ESPN
If you have not had a chance to watch Syracuse speedy guard Johnny Flynn or Notre Dame’s Player of the Year candidate Luke Harangody, then you are in for a treat. The Big East battle between two of their best will be a perfect way to start off your Saturday.

13. Georgetown vs. 3. Duke – 1:30PM
One of the more attractive inter-conference matchups all season will be this afternoon in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Georgetown and Duke plays completely different styles, and the game today will have a Tournament Sweet 16 feel to it for sure.

2. Wake Forest vs. 10. Clemson – 3:30PM ABC
Wake, who knocked off North Carolina last week, travels to Clemson, to play the undefeated Tigers in a key ACC battle.

16. Arizona State vs. 9 UCLA – 3:45 PM EST
The Pac-10 champion will likely be one of these two clubs, and if you get a chance to see this game, enjoy watching James Harden, who is a sure lottery pick, lead Arizona State against Darren Collison and the Bruins, who are starting to hit their stride at the right time.

1. Pittsburgh vs. 20. Louisville – 6PM EST ESPN
The number 1 team in America goes against my preseason pick to win it all in a huge Big East regular season contest. The Panthers, led by Sam Young, have made a believer out of everyone, rising to the top of the toughest conference in the country. Rick Pitino’s guys will give Pitt a very tough game though.

Other key games today include Miami traveling to 5. UNC (9PM EST – ESPN) and the always inriguing Ohio State/Michigan battle.
