East Coast Bias?
We are still very early into the college basketball season, but if the latest AP Poll is any indicator, the path to the national title runs through the east, the Big East that is. Syracuse entered the poll this week, which gave the Big East a record 8 teams ranked in the Top 25. One-third of the best teams in America all from one conference?
There is no doubt that the Big East is the deepest conference in the country, and many expected them to receive between 7-8 teams in the NCAA Tournament. We said back in the Season FAQ that 2 of the Final 4 would be from the Big East . A reader emailed over the weekend and asked how good would North Carolina be if they had to play in the Big East? A very good question, and one that will probably spring debate for days. It doesn’t matter in December where you are ranked though, but in March, so time will tell if the Big East can make believers of us all.
