World Famous LayupDrill Rumor Mill – 11/4/08
Stephon Marbury

This is a very special Election Day edition of the Rumor Mill, and if you were like me, you did your civic duty and excercised your right to vote for our next commander in chief today, and possibly some local elections too. Whatever the case, even if you aren’t a big politics buff, watching the results come in on Presidential Election Night is something special. Not only because it happens only once every four years, but also because the stakes are so high.

Speaking of high stakes, Yahoo Sports is reporting the Pistons are about to make a serious run at King James in 2010. That was allegedly why they made the deal for AI. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense. Iverson has only one year left on his deal, and the Pistons get a guard that makes them contenders this year. If they dont resign him, which they probably would not, then they free up alot of cap space for Lebron. The Pistons have the supporting cast to put around Lebron to make him really think this one over…

In a very surprising move, the New York Knicks announced earlier today that they have no plans to trade, release, or buy out the contract of Stephon Marbury. Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni and president Donnie Walsh basically said Marbury will sit on the bench, and make 21 million dollars to do just that. If one of their top 3 guards become injured, then he would play. Marbury, who said he now wished Larry Brown was back as his coach, has alot of time to think about where his career went wrong.
