NBA Fantasy Tips

This will be the start of a series of articles that will be randomly updated throughout the entire NBA season. The NBA’s Perfect Pick-Ups is a list of players that are still in free-agency in a majority of fantasy leagues that should be picked up IMMEDIATELY! Add these players to your squad, and you got yourself a great chance at making the playoffs and maybe even winning your league!
*Marquis Daniels (IND, G/F)- OWNED-49%
Daniels is starting for the injured Mike Dunleavy who as of right now has no time-table return. Daniels is quickly and quietly picking up the pace in the start of the early season. In his first four games he has averaged 15.3 points, eight boards, and 3.5 assists. He will continue to produce as long as he gets his minutes.
Suggestions: If Daniels is available in your league, you should snatch him right now before someone else does. He has the potential to put up huge numbers consistently night in and night out when given time to play. Daniels is a HUGE pick-up for any fantasy players team!
*Roger Mason (SA, G)- OWNED- 56%
Mason is the one of the three best scorers on the Spurs squad alongside of Parker and Duncan. Tony Parker is now sidelined for at least a month, giving Mason a bigger chance to produce more and become a reliable fantasy guard in all types of leagues. He has the potential to put up lots of points with a consistent three-point jumper and a few boards per game.
Suggestions: Mason is a perfect pick-up for someone in need of a consistent scoring guard. He will produce a lot this month with the absence of Parker and Ginobili and is worth picking up if he is still available.
*Mario Chalmers (MIA, PG)- OWNED 78%
Mario is the starting point guard for the Heat this season. He has great potential and can dish out a lot of assists, especially with Wade, Marion, and Beasley by his side. He is a smart defender and can read the passer extremely well. Chalmers is averaging 2.83 steals per game so far with almost six assists.
Suggestions: Chalmers will produce consistently around six assists and close to three steals per night. He is an absolute sleeper pick-up if he is still available in your fantasy leagues and I suggest you pick him up expecting his potential to grow into a top 15 fantasy point guard.
*Yi Jianlian (NJ, PF)- OWNED 64%
Yi has been up and down so far this season and hasn’t proved to be a consistent rebounder or scorer as of yet. But, Yi is getting his minutes and is already looking better than he did during his rookie season. The 7’0″ Chinese-born man is definitely in for a solid season this year, if he can get his act together. Yi has the potential to be a double-double man with around one block per game.
Suggestions: If you are in need of a forward and Yi is still available, I’d say he is your best bet. He will continue to grow and get better and his potential of production (being 7’0″) is endless. Yi has sleeper pick-up written all over him.

I absolutely agree 107% with your picks. Marquis has been playing well ever since his debut Dallas but he didn’t have enough minutes coming off the bench. He showed a lot of potential when he was with the Mavericks leading them to the finals. Now, he is on a team in a rebuilding stage where Marquis has all the oppurtunity to shine. This season he will seize this golden oppurtunity and be in pace to become the leader of this team.
I think you are going a little too far with Daniels. What I was trying to say was he is getting his chance to play his game now with consistent minutes, but the truth of the matter is the Danny Granger is the center and captain of this team. Once Dunleavy comes back, Daniels might not even start.
