If you subscribe to the NBA League Pass, then last night you were in Heaven. There was so many good games and storylines on, it was crazy. The Celtics and Hawks rematch, The Lakers and Hornets battled, The Knicks shooting lights out from 3, The Rockets and Suns got beef, Greg Oden debut, part 2, The Spurs lose, again, and The Wizards won a game, finally. Heres just a few of my thoughts from a great night in the league:
Celtics beat Hawks in seasons first classic
The script was perfect last night in Boston. On one end, you have the young, talented and overachieving Atlanta Hawks, who entered last night’s game undefeated. They were facing the grizzled old vets, and defending champion Boston Celtics, in a rematch of the first round 7 game series last year. I, for one, though the Hawks were lucky last year, and that after that round Boston realized they needed they had to get themselves mentally in gear for the playoffs. I was dead wrong. The Hawks matchup with the Celtics better than any team in the East, and possibly any in the NBA. Joe Johnson played like the all NBA player potential he has, scoring 28 points, and nearly willing his team to victory by himself. But Joe had plenty of help, in the form of the maturation of Al Horford and Marvin Williams, and a refocused Mike Bibby running the point. Bibby, who is in the final year of his contract, is auditioning perhaps to stay in ATL, but many feel he may be showed the door, so the young Hawks can bring in an answer(AI) to their prayers.
Highlights from Hawks vs. Celtics:
Kobe and the Lake Show hold off New Orleans
The Lakers defeated the Hornets in the other spotlight game last night, but it wasn’t easy. The Hornets were down 16 points with 6 minutes to go, and I turned the game off. That’s when Chris Paul went to work, scoring at will on Derek Fisher, and whoever else the Lakers put in front of him, getting New Orleans within 3. But it was too much Kobe, and the Lakers leave Louisiana as the last remaining unbeaten. As I said yesterday, http://layupdrill.com/2008/11/lakers-survive-scare-in-dallas/
the Lakers will be 25-4 going into their Christmas Night rematch with the Celtics, write it down, and remember where you read it first.
Lakers vs. Hornets Highlights:

Greg Oden’s impressive stat line
The good news for Portland is that they won, holding off Dwayne Wade’s Heat barely. Rudy Fernandez is the truth, and Brandon Roy and Lemarcus Aldridge put up their numbers as well. But I didn’t watch to see them, I was turning to the game to see the re-debut of the big man, Greg Oden. So how did he do?
Oden: 3 Points, 2 Rebounds, 16 minutes played
He was out two weeks, so I am assuming you can give that as a reason why he didn’t play that much, but even when he was out there, He just looked uncomfortable in the offense. Hopefully it will get better for Oden and the Blazers, else the Sam Bowie comments will get louder and louder.

It’s gonna take time for Greg to get comfortable in the offense. He hasn’t played a full game in what…..2 years. The season is still early. Give him a few weeks and he should be fine.
I will give him till the All Star break before I render my verdict. I hope he does do well, if not the media is gonna really get on him. The Ghost of Sam Bowie signs will be all over Portland lol
Please don’t mention Sam Bowie!!!! Portland and Sam should never be mentioned in the same sentence!
yeah that sitll has to be the biggest trade mistake in history.
