Benched point guard Stephon Marbury has made it known that if the Knicks release him, and the San Antonio Spurs indicate they wanna sign him, he would be more than happy to go there. Marbury, who could help Timmy and company give an added scoring punch off the bench, could thrive in an environment, where he is not the expected to be the first, second, or third option. Being in a smaller market, and in a culture created by Gregg Popovich where you are expected to win, all could bode well for Steph.

The Spurs, as we reported earlier, are one of the many teams interested in Antonio McDyess. If it is up to King James, the coveted forward will be playing with him. The Cleveland Plain-Dealer is reporting that the Cavs touched base with McDyess late Monday about joining them. The Cavs would be able to offer McDyess slightly more money than the favorite to land him, The Pistons, but it unknown whether McDyess believes Cleveland truly has enough firepower to make a run at the Finals this season.
Stay tuned…

As we also reported earlier, the Chris Kaman watch is on. The LA Times report that the Charlotte Bobcats inquired about the center, but coach Mike Dunleavy turned down the chance to discuss any deals.

Speaking of Coach Dunleavy, The Clippers coach and their star point guard dont seem to be seeing eye to eye right now. The LA Times also report that Davis and Dunleavy are trying to get on the same page about Dunleavy’s offense, and their differences have shown in practice and in the locker room. Hopefully they can work things out, and B.Diddy can return to all star form.

Could this be Phil Jackson’s last season? Phil has been non-committal regarding coaching past this season, while Lakers management, and in particular Jerry Buss, want him to be there to coach this talented group. Some feel that if the Lakers win the NBA title this year, he may walk away, as he would be able to break the tie of most NBA titles with Celtics legend Red Aerbaruch. Phil’s decision would without doubt have a ripple effect on the team, and in particular Kobe Bryant’s decision.
