The more things change, the more they stay the same in the NBA these days. More than half the league has shown interest in Antonio McDyess, reports the Boston Globe, but his heart is still in Motown. I would be shocked if McDyess lands anywhere other than back in a Pistons uniform, though stranger things have happened.
Speaking of strange things, Tony Parker’s injury is the latest in strange developments for the San Antonio Spurs this year. Parker is listed to be sidelined for 2 to 4 weeks, and the Spurs brass are interested in bringing in some scoring power to the team, along with front court help. If San Antonio loses out in the McDyess sweepstakes, look for them to look at possibly acquiring the Bobcats Gerald Wallace.
Speaking of Wallace, the Knicks wishlist for Coach Mike D’Antoni includes both Gerald and Warriors forward Al Harrington. To make either potential deal work, the Knicks would have to get a third team involved, which reportedly they have approached Portland about in a deal for Harrington. New York is not shopping Stephon Marbury in any deal, but Eddy Curry has been mentioned as trade bait that the Bobcats may bite on.
