One day after posting that Antonio McDyess is a wanted man around the NBA, The Cleveland Plain-Dealer posted today that King James and the Cavs also will make a strong pitch to land Antonio as well. League rules prohibit any team from signing McDyess for 30 days following the Iverson trade, but some city is going to have quite a nice early Christmas gift added to their team’s roster.
According to the Rocky Mountain News, McDyess is still upset at the Nuggets from how his first run in Denver ended, in a messy divorce to New York in the summer of 2002. Those who are close to Antonio have said his preference is to be bought out or released, and to return to Detroit for less money.
Another talented forward not happy where he is right now is the Warriors Al Harrington, who went public with his demands to be traded shortly before the season began. Warriors coach Don Nelson has turned to former UNC talent Brandon Wright for playing time, and he hasn’t disapointed thus far. There have been no deals for Harrington that have come through yet, but with the season still early, The Warriors expect phone calls from various Eastern Conference teams after the New Year.
