The World Famous LayupDrill Rumor Mill

The Portland Trail Blazers have supposedly offered the young Memphis Grizzlies Forward Travis Outlaw for Point-Guard Mike Conley in return. To add to the rumor, Shooting-Guard Rudy Fernandez’s name was tossed around in the deal being sent to Memphis, sending Grizzlies Forward Hakim Warrick to Portland.

If this deal goes through, Greg Oden and Mike Conley would re-unite once again as teammates. They played together in high-school and college as well.

Overview: This trade would clearly help the Blazers a lot more than the Grizzlies. This season the Blazers actually have a chance to make it to the playoffs. They have a great amount of potential on the team and adding point-guard (Mike Conley), who has extreme upside, would only help the squad. Mike would take over the starting point-guard position and place Steve Blake on the bench.

My Decision I believe if this trade were to go through, the Blazers would pose as an even bigger threat in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies are in re-building mode this season and don’t expect to make the playoffs. They are a young team with great players who have huge potential in the years to come.
