11/11/08 – Chris Kaman heading East?

Happy Veterans Day to everyone, and especially to those who served protecting our country in the armed services. I have received emails from some of America’s bravest currently serving in the Middle East, and I truly appreciate all the support you have given the site. If anyone wanted to drop a rumor or give us feedback, you can by contacting us at comments@layupdrill.com. Now onto the rumors…
The NY Post is reporting this morning that the Clippers are looking to shake up their roster a little, with Marcus Camby almost at full strength. The lucky man headed out of Clipperland appears to be Chris Kaman. The Bobcats reportedly offered Gerald Wallace to LA, but the Clippers want no part of the small forward. The two teams though are still looking for a possible third team to get involved with their trade, and some believe Mark Cuban’s cell phone could be ringing at any moment. The principals involved in a potential three trade deal would be Chris Kaman and Cuttino Mobley leaving LA, Kaman heading to Dallas, and Mobley to Charlotte. Charlotte would receive Jason Terry from Dallas, and Matt Carroll from Charlotte. Charlotte would receive Erick Dampier from Dallas, the ability to get the remainder of Sean Williams 3 million plus owed to him off their books, and a draft pick. Stay tuned….
With nearly every veteran in the league making calls and using the media to welcome Antonio McDyess to their team, Boston’s Sam Cassell had a realistic approach to the situation yesterday. Cassell told the Boston Globe he feels McDyess will wind up back in Detroit, even though other teams can offer him more money.
The NBA’s only winless team, the Washington Wizards, may very soon be in the market for some scoring help. Already missing starters Gilbert Arenas, who isnt due to return until January, and Brendan Haywood, who is out for the season, guard Antonio Daniels is still hobbled by his knee injury. The Washington Times reports that former University of Maryland guard Juan Dixon will be starting against the Jazz Wednesday. While Dixon is a solid contributor, he may not be the long term help the Wiz need.
Word out of Charlotte is that Michael Jordan wants to run the whole show. The Bobcats minority owner stated he is ready to buy whenever majority owner Bob Johnson is ready to sell.
